THE SESSION MAN - THE NICKY HOPKINS STORY

The Session Man tells the story of unsung hero, Nicky Hopkins, the highly gifted and prolific British session pianist to some of the greatest rock bands the world has ever seen.

Nicky Hopkins not only played with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks and The Who, he also played on solo albums of all four members of the Beatles in the early part of a stellar career that spanned over 30 years. During that time, his genius piano playing contributed to more than 250 albums and a vast number of single releases.

Nicky’s legendary piano riffs and wonderful musical motifs helped ordinary tracks become extraordinary and iconic. So many of them remain popular today. The generations that followed The Golden Era of Rock And Roll soon discover those iconic tracks that made Nicky Hopkins a legend amongst his peers – tracks like “Revolution” by The Beatles, “She's A Rainbow”, “Sympathy For The Devil” and “Angie” by the Rolling Stones, “Jealous Guy” by John Lennon from his “Imagine” album and “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker.

Nicky’s story is told in the film by Albert Lee, Bill Wyman, Billy Nicholls, Glyn Johns, Graham Parker, Harry Shearer, Helen O’Hara, Keith Richards, Merrell Fankhauser, Mick Jagger,  Nils Lofgren, Pete Townshend, Peter Frampton, PP Arnold, Slim Jim Phantom, Terry Reid and many many more..

SOUL TO SOUL

SOUL TO SOUL - MARCH 6TH 2026

SOUL TO SOUL is a feature length documentary about a historical, once in a lifetime concert which took place in Black Star Square in Accra on March 6th 1971 (exactly 55 years before our release date - which is also Independence Day in Ghana!) where some of the greatest Afro-American musicians of the time performed in front of 100,000 people as part of the 15th anniversary of the country's independence celebrations.  The original concert actually lasted for 14 hours - an hour for each year since Ghana had become the first African country to gain independence from Britain.  Thankfully, SOUL TO SOUL runs for approx 96 minutes.

The concert features Ike & Tina Turner, Wilson Picket, The Staples Singers, Les McCann and Eddie Harris, Santana and Voices Of East Harlem.  For the musicians this was cathartic experience as they visited Africa for the first time.  The film follows the American musicians as they spend a few days in Ghana, visiting local villages and places before they actually performed the concert - an eye-opening experience for Ike & Tina Turner as they visit a local village with people running around with a large Elephant bone totem or hear the sorrow in Mavis Staples' voice when she visits an old slave castle.

Hoppy - Underground Head

The extraordinary life of John "Hoppy" Hopkins

John “Hoppy” Hopkins was one of the most crucial figures of the Sixties. He was the heart and soul of the Underground scene that influenced the Beatles and Stones and changed the face of British culture.

Hoppy's life as a cultural polymath was hugely influential. However, his refusal to stay in one place has made his history elusive and fragmented.  With exclusive, revealing, funny and sometimes shocking, interviews with Hoppy and his contemporaries – Joe Boyd, Suzy ‘Creamcheese’ Hopkins, Nick Mason (Pink Floyd), and more - Hoppy – Underground Head tells the story of Hoppy and the hippy underground scene and gives a unique insight into the man whose influence is still felt today.

HOPPY - UNDERGROUND HEAD

Coming to cinemas across the UK in Summer 2024 after a Premiere Event at Ladbroke Grove's Tabernacle on Friday 24th May.  Ticket details to follow.

THE RISE AND FALL OF THE CLASH REDUX

THE RISE AND FALL OF THE CLASH

The Rise and Fall of The Clash Redux is a newly edited and improved version of the only personal and up-close film about the juggernaut band The Clash, and their meteoric trajectory through rock n roll history.

The Rise and Fall of The Clash Redux features previously unseen footage of the band at work and at play as well as interviews with band members and with other insiders.

This is not a film that pulls any punches, but neither does it overlook the life-changing effect that The Clash brought to so many. The Rise and Fall of The Clash Redux paints the fascinating inside story of rivalries, treachery, betrayal and the internal band dynamics and managerial interference that ultimately led the biggest band in the world to self-destruct.

New interviews with Rude Boy protagonist and Clash insider Ray Gange and author Mick O'Shea bring new light to this film on the only band that mattered.

“Garcia builds a sobering, nightmarish picture of life in the post-Jones The Clash Mk II” Damien Love, Uncut

“Danny Garcia’s documentary The Rise and Fall Of The Clash, a whodunit about the breakup, is the first movie to shed light on this bizarre period.” Oliver Hall, Dangerous Minds

“A mould breaker. Watch and be mesmerised as this miserable tale unfolds” Kieron Tyler, The Arts Desk

“An essential watch for any die—hard Clash fan—” Punknews.org

TO BE FRANK

TO BE FRANK

TO BE FRANK is a rockumentary film that follows the life journey of FRANK BENBINI (Uncle Frank) from humble beginnings on a Leicester council estate with his single working-class Mum, to internationally renowned musician, touring the world with major artists such as FUN LOVIN’ CRIMINALS, UB40 and SINEAD O’CONNOR, and recording his own critically acclaimed music.

Fascinated by his insatiable work ethic and infectious personality, friend and filmmaker STEVE BAKER has been documenting Frank’s career for over ten years, capturing footage on planes, trains and automobiles, in hotels and recording studios, and at live shows of every shape and size – pubs thru festivals and stadia – recording first-hand the unfolding story of Frank's rising star, warts’n’all.

The result is a supremely entertaining film that reveals just how hard it is to succeed in the modern music industry, and how Frank Benbini has done just that against all the odds. The story of his musical journey juxtaposed skilfully against his battles with mental health issues, record labels, and an ever-changing music industry, will resonate with audiences up and down the land.
