THE RUBBER KEYED WONDER is not a music doc, but the story of the ZX SPECTRUM – the revolutionary British home computer console designed and released in 1982 by British inventor and technologist SIR CLIVE SINCLAIR. Of the global sales estimate of @ 60M, the UK accounted for 5-7M of them (10% of British households at the time!) The ZX Spectrum gave a whole generation their first experience of home-computing/gaming, and perhaps even more importantly, coding and it is now recognised as having played a massively significant part in the growth of the modern gaming industry as a result.

22 reasons why Twin Town is the greatest Welsh cult film of all time
If there's ever been a funnier, darker, Welsher or more quotable film than Twin Town, we definitely haven't seen it. From the opening scene as a two-tone 525 files over the camera, to the dying moments (spoiler alert) as a male voice choir sings Myfanwy on a flood-lit Mumbles pier, it's a film that has classic written all over it.

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the first broadcast of Under Milk Wood on BBC Radio, Kevin Allen's 2015 film is touring cinemas across Wales in October/November 2024
Originally released in 2015 across cinemas in Wales (and beyond) and starring Rhys Ifans and Charlotte Church, Under Milk Wood is Kevin Allen’s (Twin Town) adaptation of Dylan Thomas’s brilliant and haunting radio play. Visceral, funny and filthily fluid, Under Milk Wood follows Captain Cat as he visits the dreams and innermost thoughts of the inhabitants of a fictional small Welsh fishing village, Llareggub ("bugger all" backwards).

Making its premiere as the opening film at the Rotterdam Film Festival 2024, New Zealand filmmaker Jonathan Ogilvie’s semi-autobiographical music drama Head South, featuring Ed Oxenbould, Márton Csókás, singer-songwriter Stella Bennett (Benee), and Roxie Mohebbi.
Taking place in Christchurch, New Zealand 1979., HEAD SOUTH sees Angus, alone for a couple of weeks with his world-weary father, drawn into the underground post-punk music scene. Desperate to fit in with this magnetic but fickle subculture, Angus distances himself from his true friends and lies about his musical abilities to his new ‘friends’. Caught out by his own deceit he must become the musician he pretended to be. With the support of his friends, especially the talented Kirsten, Angus navigates self-doubt, derision, harmful behaviour and a family tragedy to take the stage for the first time.
The film features music from Toy Love, The Slits, Public Image Ltd, Magazine, The Scavengers, Wire and Lou Reed.

Hoppy - Underground Head
The extraordinary life of John "Hoppy" Hopkins
John “Hoppy” Hopkins was one of the most crucial figures of the Sixties. He was the heart and soul of the Underground scene that influenced the Beatles and Stones and changed the face of British culture.
Hoppy's life as a cultural polymath was hugely influential. However, his refusal to stay in one place has made his history elusive and fragmented. With exclusive, revealing, funny and sometimes shocking, interviews with Hoppy and his contemporaries – Joe Boyd, Suzy ‘Creamcheese’ Hopkins, Nick Mason (Pink Floyd), and more - Hoppy – Underground Head tells the story of Hoppy and the hippy underground scene and gives a unique insight into the man whose influence is still felt today.
Coming to cinemas across the UK in Summer 2024 after a Premiere Event at Ladbroke Grove's Tabernacle on Friday 24th May. Ticket details to follow.
